IS & ISN’T

Super Cruise® can help you maintain lane position or change lanes, on demand, when driving on compatible roads. You always need to initiate the maneuver yourself.

Super Cruise® is not:

  • a self-driving system
  • a crash avoidance or warning system
  • a substitute for proper supervision of the driving task.
BE PREPARED TO ACT

When using Super Cruise®:

  • you must pay attention to the road and be ready to take control of the vehicle at any time
  • you may need to respond to traffic events by steering, braking or accelerating
  • you still need to use your mirrors and look in your blind spots to stay aware of other vehicles entering the lane you’re changing into.
DOS AND DON’TS
  • Never use a smartphone or other hand-held device when Super Cruise® is active.

DIGITAL ACTIVATION

You’ll need to activate your Cadillac’s digital services and connected features using your smartphone and the myCadillac mobile app.
DRIVING CONDITIONS

For Cadillac Super Cruise® to operate:

  • You must be on a road compatible with Super Cruise® driving.
  • Lane markings must be clearly visible and not obscured by weather or glare.
  • Your Cadillac’s cameras and radar sensors must be working and not covered or obstructed.
  • Your Cadillac’s driver-attention camera must detect you’re paying attention to the road ahead.

WHAT IS CADILLAC SUPER CRUISE®?

Cadillac Super Cruise® is a level 2, hands-free advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) created by General Motors. Level 2 means partial automation: your Cadillac can control steering and speed, but the driver must watch the road at all times. For details, download Supplementary Super Cruise® Information.

WHICH CADILLAC MODELS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH SUPER CRUISE®?

Cadillac Super Cruise® is compatible with OPTIQ (model year 2025 and later), LYRIQ (model year 2026 and later), and VISTIQ (model year 2026 and later). You receive Super Cruise® as a complimentary software update from your local Cadillac service partner. No hardware installation or replacement is required.

IS CADILLAC SUPER CRUISE® A LEVEL 3 SYSTEM?

No, it’s a level 2 advanced driver-assistance system. On compatible roads, it can take over your steering wheel and pedals, and help you execute maneuvers like lane centering and overtaking. But you must have your attention on the road at all times, so you can take control if need be.

CAN I USE CADILLAC SUPER CRUISE® ON ALL ROADS?

No, Cadillac Super Cruise® can only be used on compatible, pre-mapped roads. This network is large and constantly expanding, see our map. 

HOW DOES SUPER CRUISE® WORK?

When you’re using Super Cruise®, your vehicle detects others traveling in the same direction as you. To keep you at the right distance behind these, Super Cruise® will accelerate or brake your vehicle, based on the adaptive cruise control speed you set. It can do this in all traffic conditions, as long as you’re on a compatible road and the other driving conditions are met.

WHAT ARE THE SUPER CRUISE® DRIVING CONDITIONS?

For Cadillac Super Cruise® to operate:

 

  • You must be on a road compatible with Super Cruise® driving.
