End-users are required under EU Regulation 2023/1542 to discard waste batteries separately from other waste streams, including from mixed municipal waste.
It is recommended that all high voltage Li-ion batteries from GM EVs be sent to GM approved recyclers or their partners. All requests regarding battery collection and recycling are managed by GM Europe’s Customer Support.
